"Journey to Cure" is a full length documentary film on how true healing can work.
We follow the Indian holistic healer Dr. B.N. Jha and his patients in Bangalore and Berlin on the search for answers.
the film's content
"The life we lead has brought us to where we now are." Do all diseases and their subsequent cures come from within?
Then we simply need to know the causes of our illness in order to not only cure it, but to avoid its return in the future.
This sounds easy, but since most of us are far away from being able to even hear our inner voice, how can we learn to listen to it? And on top of that, how do we find the necessary trust in ourselves to be able to cure ourselves?
When I met Dr. Jha for the first time and looked into his bright, warm eyes, I felt all the trust in the world. He is able to create an environment in which one can find this trust.
On a physical level, he uses ancient, mostly Asian practices, which include for example Sujok therapy (accupressure with seeds). Ayurvedic medicine, herbal medicine, energy and chakra healing, homeopathy and many more. Yes, there are many using these techniques, but I quickly felt there is more to it. It is HOW he utilizes them. And most importantly, as he advises his patients about what they can do for themselves on a deeper level, he creates an environment for them to heal. He empowers them to find their true life path. This might be exhausting, demanding, uncomfortable at times and possibly even include a major life change, but true healing must include a commitment which affects all elements of one's life.
Still, wouldn't it be great to learn how to heal ourselves?
We will accompany Dr. Jha during his healing sessions in India, ask a lot of questions, witness how he teaches his students and advises a wide range of people, from well-healed professionals to the poorest and much more. Dig in and find out Raise interest. Learn.
The film's approach is to show what is possible through faith. Faith in oneself.
PRODUCTION
FACTS
Between 2015 and 2020, we were following Dr. Jha and a select group of his patients suffering from a wide spectrum of diseases in his clinic in Bangalore / South India.
In the summer of 2015, I packed my camera gear and went from Berlin to Bangalore to begin the first shooting period with Dr. Jha.
The second shooting period I started in the fall of 2017. This time with the support of Peter Knutas, who did the sound recording and was a great help in many ways.
In 2019 I was able to start the editing process with my editor Lisa Friedhofen.
After having completed the last shoot in Bangalore and Bihar in January 2020, the post production process followed in Berlin.
On April 16th of 2023 JOURNEY TO CURE had its world premiere in Bangalore / India!
Now the German premiere in Berlin is waiting!
WHY IT'S WORTH IT
I believe the world needs healing, especially in current times. And healing must always begin with ourselves. When individuals are doing well, the collective will do well too. This film offers insights for those who want to know.
